SKITE 2.0 Setup

Attachment of flying lines on SKITE 2.0

The flying lines are not mounted on your SKITE 2.0. They are color coded, the lines to the left side of the kite are red and connect to the left (red) handle, the lines to the right side of the kite are blue and connect to the right (blue) handle. Both front lines have sleeved yellow endings.

In your kite bag you will find:

Above is the bag, below on the left side the handles, the lines and on the right side the kite. When you open the kite, the attachment points are all tied together to prevent tangles:

After untieing the attachment points it looks like that:

Open the bag of the lines and take the loose yellow sleeved endings.

Put the red line at the left side of the kite, the blue line at the right side of the kite:

Here you can see how the right front line is attached to the kite:

Now the same for the left side:

Unwind the front lines from the winder now but take care to leave the rear lines on the winder. Attach the front lines to the upper leader line of the handles, the red line to the red (left) handle, the blue line to the blue (right) handle:

Take the rear lines and attach the left brake bridle to the left rear line (red line with red sleeved endings) and the right brake bridle to the right rear line (blue line with blue sleeved endings).

Unwind the rear lines now form the winder and put them near the front lines but take care not to mix up the lines. When you reach the endings attach them to the lower leader lines of the handles: again left (red) line to the left (red) handle and right (blue) line to the right (blue) handle.

When winding the lines on the handles please follow these steps - so you can be sure not to spend your valuable time untangling lines: hold both handles together on the upper (colored) part and wind up the rear leader lines and make about 5 more turns with the flying lines. Safe that on the handles by putting the flying lines in between the handles:

Now hold the handles on the lower (not colored) side and wind all 4 lines together on the handles.

When you reach the end of the lines, safe them again on the handles by putting them in between the handles.

Fold in one wing tip to the middle of the kite and put the handles on the upper surface then - roll the kite around the handles and fold the roll above the handles then. This end will easily slip inside the bag, the rest will follow. Always take care not to tangle the handles with the bridle lines. This way you can easily pack and later unpack your kite.

When unwinding the lines later, hold the handles on the lower end again, so the lines will finally lay parallelly. Befor you launch the kite check the lines again - there must not be any tangles or knots, because a knotted line will be weakened by about 50%.

Finally we wish you good winds and a lot of fun with your SKITE 2.0!
