Emergency Quick Release
Rebuilding the Emergency Quick Release
In really dangerous situations you might need to cut the connection
to your kite completely. To do so you only need to trigger the emergency quick
release at the chicken loop below the control bar. You simply pull the red handle
away from yourself and the quick release will immediately open and release the
kite. If you don't want your kite being blown away you better grab the cross
line or one of the rear leader lines and the kite will land and stay down safely.
PLEASE NOTE: This system is made for really dangerous situations only!
After you triggered the system the cross line will be the only
connection to the kite, so better get used to this system, because your kite
can be VERY DANGEROUS for bystanders! For your
own safety you should get used to that system and learn how to rebuild the quick
release. To do so please follow the photos below
BUT it can also be very dangerous for bystanders if you trigger the system and you kite is blown away.
